Photograph album, 1930-1935, includes black and white photographs of various sizes of planes; flying formations and demonstrations; officers; squadrons; pilots; cooks; ambulance and radio units; the Mitchell Trophy and winners of the trophy in 1933-1934; plane crashes or accidents (noting names of pilots, date, location, problems leading to crash/accident, and whether pilot jumped or died); insignias of the 1st, 17th, 27th, 57th, and 94th Pursuit and the Weather Flight Squadrons. Various officals and famous pilots including Gen. Andrews and Eddie Rickenbacker are also documented, as are national guard pilots. Training locations or camps documented include: Randolph Field (Tex.), Langley Field (Va.), Chanute Field, Selfridge Field (Mich.), and Detroit and Bishop airports in Mich. Also documented are Chinese visitors to Selfridge Field, 1934, a dog mascot, and parties, 1935. Many of the photographs were taken throughout Mich., Va., and Tex., with a few taken in N.Y., Ky., and Ind.

The Air Corps Act of 1926 changed the name of the U.S. Army Air Service to the U.S. Army Air Corps.
